The missing consumer
engagement layer between
usage and retention.

Carriers already understand unused allowance behaviour. The challenge has never been visibility — it has been activation. Urbyte provides an independent consumer engagement layer that verifies unused allowance patterns and supports measurable retention, engagement and community-impact pathways. Without touching your network. Without touching your pricing. Without disrupting existing commercial structures.

The Structural Reality

The industry absorbed it.
Urbyte intercepts it.

This addresses no carrier failure. It is infrastructure built on a structural given that the billing model itself produces — and that no carrier has had commercial reason to eliminate until churn became the primary margin threat.

Why the waste is structural

Carriers provision for peak demand and sell plans against an average-use assumption that underestimates consumption variance. The gap between allocation and consumption is not accidental — it is the mechanism that prevents overage charges and maintains margin. Artificial billing cycle boundaries ensure unused capacity cannot be deferred indefinitely. What is not consumed by cycle end evaporates.

Rollover plans slow the expiry. They do not eliminate it. The unused allowance value persists across every plan type, every carrier, every cycle.

26 million plans. 55GB average monthly delta. Expiring continuously.

Why retention is the commercial case

A DBU balance accruing over three or more billing cycles creates a measurable switching cost that operates independently of pricing — the subscriber leaves demonstrable accrued value on the table if they move. No discount strategy replicates that.

The Givabit cohort extends it further. Subscribers routing DBUs to a nominated DGR charity introduce a non-financial identity attachment to their plan. That cohort churns 51% less than the carrier baseline.

No pricing change. No contract renegotiation. A read-only feed and 90 days.

System Architecture

Six components.
One out-of-band layer.

The entire Urbyte stack operates outside the core network. No write access. No latency impact. No operational risk surface for the carrier. Full technical specifications are available to verified partners under NDA.

01 — Ingestion

Data Ingestion Engine

Securely ingests anonymised carrier usage data via a read-only, enterprise-grade API connection or batch CSV/CDR upload. Calculates the verified gap between allocated fleet capacity and actual consumption each billing cycle. Zero PII stored at any point.

02 — Verification

Waste Verification Layer

Applies Urbyte's NEW_TERM verification protocol to each capacity event. Every verified waste record is independently auditable and cryptographically signed. Designed as an internal verification record. Legal, accounting and regulatory treatment remains subject to professional advice.

03 — Distribution

Social Impact Engine

Supports approved directions toward ACNC-registered DGR charities or partner programs. Any Australian-dollar contribution, receipt or tax treatment occurs separately and is subject to approval and professional advice.

04 — Consumer

Subscriber Interface

Retail-facing platform giving subscribers visibility over plan inclusions, recorded usage and eligible internal DBU records. It does not convert mobile data into cash, benefits or ownership rights.

05 — Corporate

Fleet Management Dashboard

Enterprise operator portal providing live capacity waste reporting, ESG impact metrics, charitable contribution ledger, and ATO-ready tax documentation. Full fleet telecom waste audit available on demand.

06 — Integration

Partner API

Out-of-band, read-only connection. Zero write access to carrier systems. Zero latency impact on network operations. MVNO white-label capability — verification and engagement infrastructure deployable under your brand with a defined integration scope.
